Parvo
Parvo is one of the worst diseases a dog can be diagnoses with. This disease ravages a dog's body and quickly consumes its resources, effectively killing it in a short time. If you suspect your dog has parvo, we advise you to stop reading and start contacting our Atlanta veterinarians right away by using our contact form.
Symptoms of Parvo
Symptoms of parvo include vomiting, diarrhea, listlessness, and loss of appetite. The dog's body will continually attempt to rid itself of the parvo through bowel movements and vomiting. If your dog is doing either of these, it could have parvo. Dogs with these two symptoms will often experience the diarrhea or vomiting in unexpected places, such as the middle of the living room floor or in a hallway.
Due to the extensive efforts of the dog's body to rid itself of the disease, the dog's energy will be consumed by its own body. This will leave your dog tired and listless. The onset of dehydration will make the dog even more tired.
The lack of energy, combined with the diarrhea and vomiting will surely cause your dog to lose its appetite. It won't eat anything, not even its favorite meals right out of the oven.
If your dog is experiencing any of these symptoms, they may have parvo and there is no time to waste. Contact our Atlanta veterinarians now for the best chance of survival.
