Getting a New Dog
Adopting a new dog is one of the most exciting times of a person's life, especially if they are younger. Pets are enjoyed and loved by people of all ages, and we enjoy helping people make happy homes with their new pets. There are a few things to keep in mind to make your new life with your new pet as smooth as possible.
When getting a new dog, you have to take into consideration where you would like them to live. The choices are: outdoor and indoor, so it isn't too difficult, really. If you have a large home you may be considering having your new dog sleep indoors; pets going to smaller homes should be kept outside so they have plenty of room to move around.
Decide where you would like your new dog to sleep. If your dog is going to be living outdoors, it will probably choose various sleeping places, but you can get it started with a dog house or a space in the garage. Your dog is definitely going to need shelter when it storms, so go ahead and get prepared for that in the beginning.
Indoor dogs often are provided a blanket or other cushion on which to sleep. However, like outdoor dogs, indoor dogs will probably sleep in various places throughout their home.
You can help influence where your dog sleeps by controlling where it eats. Place their bowls near the place where you want them to sleep, and your dog will consider this area to be their personal space. If there is a place to sleep in this area, they will assume that it's theirs.
